We are looking for a volunteer social media editor to manage our English-language X / Twitter page and its community of around 430,000 followers. 

World History Encyclopedia is a non-profit organization publishing the world's most-read history encyclopedia. Our mission is to engage people with cultural heritage and to improve history education worldwide.

This position is a volunteer role; you will not get paid for your work. If you can communicate well and you are able to devote at least five hours per week to this position, we’d like to hear from you. 

• You are able to commit at least 5 hours per week to this position.

• Experience as a social media editor, content creator, community manager, or similar role.

• Solid understanding of social media platforms and their algorithms; how to generate organic reach with posts.

• Ability to engage people on social media, generate discussions, and create share-worthy content.

• Ability to respond to comments and engage with the audience effectively, moderating discussions and guiding conversations.

• Strong sense of aesthetics and ability to create visually appealing posts.

• Mindset to take initiative on your own, determine your own strategies, and set your own goals, without direct management, as this is a remote position.

• Understanding of copyright laws and ethical standards in content creation.
