We are looking for a dedicated volunteer to manage our YouTube channel, helping us bring history to life for our 128k+ subscribers and growing global audience.
As our YouTube Channel Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our mission to make history education freely accessible to everyone, everywhere. You'll manage day-to-day channel operations whilst our content creators focus on producing engaging historical videos that reach millions of learners worldwide.

Channel Management (60%)
Upload and schedule video releases, optimising titles, descriptions, and tags for discovery
Create compelling thumbnails using provided templates and simple design tools
Manage playlists and organise content by historical period, theme, and educational level
Monitor channel analytics and provide monthly performance insights
Community Engagement (30%)
Respond to viewer comments
Moderate comments to maintain a respectful, educational environment
Share interesting viewer questions with our editorial team for potential video topics
Post community updates about new videos, articles and other initiatives
Cross-Platform Coordination (10%)
Coordinate with our social media team to promote videos across platforms
Assist with repurposing long-form content into YouTube Shorts (not editing, this will be a supporting role for identifying best opportunities)
Support integration of YouTube content with our educational resources
You are able to commit at least 5 hours per week to this position.
Proven experience as a Youtube channel manager, social media editor, content creator, community manager, or similar role.
Solid understanding of Youtube and social media platform algorithms, as well as how to generate organic reach with posts.
Ability to engage people, generate discussions, and create share-worthy content.
Ability to respond to comments and engage with the audience effectively, moderating discussions and guiding conversations.
Strong sense of aesthetics and ability to create visually appealing posts.
Mindset to take initiative on your own, determine your own strategies, and set your own goals, without direct management, as this is a remote position.
Understanding of copyright laws and ethical standards in content creation.
