History Writer
Telling History's Stories
World History Encyclopedia is a non-profit organization publishing the world's most-read history encyclopedia. Our mission is to engage people with cultural heritage and to improve history education worldwide. We make history engaging and exciting, delivering the highest-quality articles on ancient history, videos, interactive maps, and news to millions of people from across the globe.
We are always looking for people to write historical articles for our encyclopedia. These can be both definitions that offer an overview of a topic, or in-depth articles that examine one subject in more detail. All our articles are between 1,500 and 3,000 words in length; informative but not overbearing. Most importantly, we are looking for articles that make history engaging, telling the interesting stories of our past.
Whether you are a historian, archaeologist, author, freelance writer, or simply a history enthusiast, you can write for us. We are not looking for specific qualifications; as long as you can write well and to an academic standard (citing your sources), your work could be published on the world's most-read history website. Our editorial team reviews every submission for accuracy and quality of writing.
This position is a volunteer role; you will not get paid for your work. If you can communicate well and you are able to devote at least six hours per week to this position, we’d like to hear from you.
