World History Encyclopedia is used in thousands of schools and universities, reaching millions of students every year. It is recommended by the School Library Journal, Teach Magazine, Common Sense Education, Oxford University and many others. Despite its large global reach, there are still many teachers and students who have never encountered our publication. We need your expertise in education marketing to change that!
We want to design and execute a targeted, hands-on outreach campaign to secure institutional adoption of our digital history resources within school boards, school districts, and universities. We are looking for an expert with a background in education business development, edtech, or educational publishing who understands the landscape of educational adoption and knows how the market operates.
However, there is no commercial sales target here. The goal of this project is to promote an incredible, completely free, peer-reviewed resource to underfunded history and social studies departments that desperately need high-quality educational materials.
Apply at the bottom of this page.
You will actively own and execute the day-to-day campaign work, specifically focusing on:
Institutional Outreach Strategy: Build a structured outreach framework and pipeline to target curriculum decision-makers, school boards, and administrators, primarily across the US and Canada.
Relationship Management: Initiate direct contact with your existing network or newly researched leads to introduce our platform at an institutional level rather than relying on individual teacher discovery.
Messaging and Pitching: Adapt and refine our value proposition to clearly demonstrate to school administrators how our free, human-authored platform solves resource constraints for underfunded departments.
Please note that this is not a high-level consulting role. We need a resourceful, hands-on doer with at least five years of education sector experience who can create the immediate outreach framework and handle the actual day-to-day communication to help us get into more classrooms.
You are able to commit at least 5 hours per week to this position.
Proven marketing experience of at least five years, preferably in the education publishing or EdTech sectors
Experience with both digital and non-digital marketing activities
Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills
